Memorial
Day Parade
Pack 124 will be marching in our town's annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 31st. The parade route marches down School St., then right onto Rte. 316, and continuing on towards Rte. 6. At the soldier's memorial, a Webelo scout and a Girl scout will together present a ceremonial wreath, which will be followed by a gun salute. We will then proceed back to Cider Mill Cemetery for a short program, including music and speeches honoring the memory of all the brave American soldiers who have defended our country throughout its history.
We hope you can join us for this important event. We will have small flags for all of the scouts to carry, as well as candy and other items to pass out to the crowd. Scouts will take turns carrying the American and Pack flags and banner, as well as riding on the float that Bear Den 1 has prepared for this year!
Please wear your official BSA uniform for this event, and take extra care to make sure it's clean and looking its best. Also wear any event patches and medals (religious, etc.) you have earned for this special event. You've worked hard for them, and now is the time to show them off!
Please arrive at the Andover Elementary School parking lot by 8:45a, and everything should be wrapped up by about 10:30a. And after the festivities, the Andover Historical Museum on Rte. 6 will most likely be open, for those who'd like to learn more about the interesting history of our town.
